Have you tried turning it off and on again? - The IT Crowd Series 1 (DVD)

Advantages: Very funny and lots of extras on the DVD.
Disadvantages: None!
The IT Crowd is a sitcom set in the IT department of Reynholm Industries (fictional) and centres around the lives of Moss (Richard Ayoade), Roy (Chris O'Dowd) and Jen (Katherine Parkinson). Throughout this first series of 6 episodes, we see the characters be introduced to us and it shows us how funny they are.

Graham Lineham clearly has well researched the kind of geeky lifestyle that is stereotypical of IT workers as many of the jokes, are simple yet very funny and anyone who has had experience with IT call centres/departments can relate to them.

Through these first six episodes we are shown how the company sees the IT department as the lowest of the low, this is also related to by them being based in a dark and dirty basement. Roy and Moss, both quite socially inept try to break out of this position they are in, where as Jen thinks she is a "people person", when she is quite clearly just like Moss and Roy.

This is definitely worth a watch if you like good, simple British humour and even though it is rated a 15 certificate, it is suitable for all to see. It is the first of four series that are currently available on DVD and according to wikipedia, a fifth series has been commissioned.

I have to give this DVD a 5/5 just because I have found it very funny and the simple jokes that have been made out of simple conversations makes for excellent writing. It has won a BAFTA and EMMY so I'm not the only one who loves it!
Summary: Great comedy for all the family that everyone who has contacted IT support can relate to!
